Oreo Cookie Ice Cream
First attempt at making ice cream the Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Ice Cream Maker
The ice cream maker came with a recipe book but it didn’t include Oreo Cookie 😦

I followed the vanilla recipe and added about a cup of Oreo Cookies. It was just the right amount. Here’s how I made it.

First, make sure you freeze the tub long enough. I put mine in the freezer for 7 hours and it wasn’t cold enough. Try to leave it in overnight.
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 cups whole milk
- 1-1/8 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 1-1/3 Tbs vanilla extract
- 10 Oreo cookies crushed (1 cup)
Makes 2 Qts.
Combine milk, sugar, cream and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Mix slowly until the sugar dissolves. Cover bowl or transfer to air tight container and refrigerator for a couple hours. Put the Oreo cookies in a bag and use a food hammer or pan to crush the cookies to small pieces, set aside.
Put frozen ice cream tub in the machine. Pour in refrigerated mixture. Add scraper arm and cover. Turn on the machine and let it run for about 20 minutes. At this point you should have the consistency of soft serve ice cream. Add Oreo Cookie pieces through the hold in the cover (while the machine is still running). Continue turning for another 5 or 10 minutes.
Remove scraper arm, spooning off ice cream. Pour ice cream in to containers, cover and freeze for 2 hours – of course you’ll want to sample a spoonful or 3 🙂
This comes out delicious.
Well worth the $53. You can check it out on Amazon.
